There were 12 protesters outside the clinic this morning. One woman always stands at the gate and yells at our patients as they drive in. Today, as I walked through the parking lot, she shouted, "Planned Parenthood does abortions on Fridays, you know!" I rolled my eyes. One of our patients was standing outside the door with her young child waiting for the center to open. As I walked in, she glanced back toward the gate and said under her breath, "I'm here for birth control, lady." But I hope she knows that it doesn't matter if it's a Wednesday or a Friday or if she's coming for birth control or an abortion. When she walks through our doors, she's gonna get a smile from me.

Wow good for you- you are doing some hard work but you are making a difference in peoples lives!
Thank you for being so brave every day. It's inspiring.
This post made me tear up. People don't need to be condemed and yelled at; they need warmth and acceptance. Thank you
As I read your blog, I find moments like the one described in this post are especially poignant. Thanks for your work to help women.
Your work is so important - it makes such a difference. Some people search their whole lives to make such an impact! Thank you.
It is amazing how people are ignorant concerning the many different services PP offers, isn't it? Keep up the good work, Emily X. I look forward to reading your blog on my feed.
Hey. I have supported Planned Parenthood for many years and truly believe in the power of the education and services Planned Parenthood provides. But I am amazed at how limited my info was and how much I learned just reading two of these daily entries.
So, keep this up and I will try to read and learn more.
Keep up this wonderful work!
Britney is so beautiful! Wow, what a great blog. Keep it up sister!
Dear PP Associates:
I want to applaud and thank you for the work you do. I work with adolescents and know how many of them rely on social services and non-profits for their basic birth control needs. Unfortunately, my community does not have those services and I see how the lack of health care really impacts our society. I can honestly say I've never used the services of Planned Parenthood, but your presence has always been comforting.
Pro-Life or Pro-Choice shouldn't matter. Everyone should be Pro-People and respent the position of those individuals who do what they can to help.
I applaud all y'all Emily X's. Keep fighting the good fight.
I just wanted to say, I have gone to a PP for BC and health care when I had little money. It was really appreciated. I am one person who is grateful for what you are all doing.
Thank you to everyone who fights this battle daily to protect women and their rights. As long as there are brave women out there who aren't afraid of those mindless bullies with their warped religious playbooks, Planned Parenthood can continue to provide much needed services to our generation and future generations of women. Keep up the great work!
